Rare Copper Wall Panelling Cladding by Edit Oborzil, 1971

Striking copper panels provenance from a historic luxury midcentury Hungarian Hotel.
The panels dismantled and each copper element is packed in protective wrapping and crated in wooden box. Fully restored and cleaned by skilled restorator. Original patina remained.
Three types of elements are in the set, Concave, Convex and with a hole for hot air circulation. (fireplace, cache radiateur or for illumination)
Each panel consists of 198 copper elements.

OBORZIL EDIT 1921 – 1996
Painter and craftswoman. Graduated 1938. University of Fine Arts in 1952 and at this time that she met her husband, craftsman Tibor Jeney. Their complementary work resulted in outstanding creations. She started to work with her husband, craftsman Tibor Jeney, and swiched her interest towards Applied Arts. They began to work with metal surfaces, artistic machining of aluminum and copper. Embossed metal panels and copper tiles were made for wall covering and big radiator coverings.
Works: Keszthely Helikon Hotel, Aero Hotel Budapest, Taverna Hotel Budapest, Facade of the Royal Hotel, some decorative elements of the Opera House.
Helikon Hotel, Keszthely (1971)
The hotel architecture of the second half of the 1960s was influenced by the excellent work of the designers and interior architects of the Budapest Intercontinental.
Many, new artists worked on a fine and applied arts commission to decorate the hotel Helikon.
The walls of some rooms were decorated with Oborzil Edit metal wall cladding elements combined with typically blue and green colored wallpapers.
