The inside dimensions for the mattress area are 58 “inches wide by 77 inches head to toe. An American Queen mattress is 60 x 80. Either can be accommodated. Adaptive brackets can be made to extend the length of the bed to 80 inches. Alternatively, the headboard can be mounted to the wall at your preferred height so the platform sits freely 3 inches forward.
